ISHANA
"ISHANA is a indie-pop singer, songwriter, and producer from Mississauga, Ont., based in Montreal, Canada. She makes an impact on new and old ears with her distinguishable vocal timbre, unique aura, punchy lyrics, and refreshing musical arrangements. Influenced by her eclectic musical upbringing spanning oldies rock, Motown, country, meshed with her own taste in 2000s rock-pop, and 90s divas vocal influences, her time with the Montreal Jubilation Gospel Choir, her time studying classical guitar and music theory, Ishana’s songs make an impact on young and mature audiences alike. Her unique vocals are the highlight when she performs live. She has the ability to create rythmic melodies and deliver them in a way that goes straight to the hearts of her listeners. After lending her voice and pen to a collaborative rock album project [Cloud Driver, September 2023], briefly experimenting with an ambient gloom (metal) band [Soul Absence], she has focused on producing and releasing her album electronica-imbued album "Coconut Cowboy" (July 2024), which was mostly self-produced minus some key industry collaborations. Leading up to the album release, she released punchy single “Calm Cool Collected” (early 2022), an instant hit to her fans. She collaborated with acclaimed producer Glen Robinson to create the pop-rock single “Bubble Gum” reminiscent of the early 2000s music era. These followed the released of lullaby-like single “Whole Again” (Spring 2021) accompanied by a music video said to be shiver-inducing by her listeners. Her previous works include debut albums Old Skin I and II, showing heart-full humble beginnings. She is a recipient of FACTOR’s artist development grant.
